Intervention1: Tablet Alpha Lipoic Acid 600mg as an adjunct to scaling and root planing.: Tablet Alpha Lipoic Acid 600mg will be provided for 30 days once daily before meals along with scaling and roo

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with chronic periodontitis ( moderate & severe ) according to CDC Criteria 2007. 2. Patient with age group of 30 to 65 years. 3. Systemically healthy patient. 4. Presence of minimum 20 teeth.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient who have taken anti-inflammatory/antibiotic prior to one month of beginning the study. 2. Subjects who have undergone periodontal treatment six months prior to study. 3. Patient who is known case of allergy to Alpha Lipoic Acid or patient confirmed intolerance to Alpha Lipoic Acid. 4. Habit of consumption of tobacco in any form. 5. Pregnant and lactating women. 6. Patients undergoing orthodontic treatment.
