Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Preterm infants more than 28 weeks of gestation and less than 35 weeks of gestation. And showing signs of clinical jaundice and/or elevated trans-cutaneous bilirubin (2 mg below phototherapy threshold and above) or elevated serum bilirubin ( at or above phototherapy threshold ) warranting phototherapy admitted in NICU, department of paediatrics, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: • 35 weeks of gestation •Conditions that could interfere with TCB measurements such as Congenital malformations Hydrops fetalis Diffuse cutaneous conditions Purpura Neonates requiring exchange transfusion Critically ill preterms And age more than 21 days of life. •Bilirubin levels not warranting phototherapy.
