Interventions

Intervention1: STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING TRAINING: Experimental group will perform sport specific strength and conditioning training (strength, speed and power exercises and sprint interval training)
3 sessions per week for six weeks Control group will continue their regular training (kicking, punching and grappling training) for 6 weeks. Control Intervention1: NIL: NIL

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Male MMA athletes; 2.Athletes who have been training for more than 1 year; 3.Athletes in Weight class- Featherweight (65.8kg or 145 lbs to 70.3kg 0r 155 lbs).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Subjects with known history of injury that had required medical attention in past 6 months. 2.Professional level MMA athletes. 3.Any use of performance enhancing drugs.

1.Strength:1RM (Deadlift, Back-squat and Bench press Test) 2.Anthropometric measurements: Weight, Muscle Mass, BMI, Percentage Body Fat, Fat mass, Fat free mass, 4 site skin fold measurement, Lean body mass, hip circumference, waist circumference, waist/ hip ratio Timepoint: 6 weeks
