Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subject is willing and able to provide written informed consent. All cases clinically diagnosed to have inguinal hernia and who have undergone inguinal hernia repair during the period of study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Recurrent inguinal hernia Bilateral inguinal hernia (to avoid bias) Complicated inguinal hernia(obstructed/strangulated/incarcerated) Patients suffering from other pain syndromes and chronic disorders like spine traumas, diagnosed neuropathies, collagen vascular disease, chronic renal failure, bleeding disorders and immune compromised status pre-operatively Non complaint patients- Psychiatric patients

MeasureTime frame
1) To grade pain on first follow up/ ! month post Op. 2) To calculate the incidence of inguinodynia at 3 months 3)To check if there is a relation betwenn operative time and inguinodynia 4)To check if inguinodynia is significantly lesser in laparoscopic hernia repaircompared to open hernia repair. This study may suggest that something in the currently employed methods of groin hernia repair is associated with an increase in the post operative pain and it may provide a hypothesis for further investigations.Timepoint: 1.5 years
