Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of isolated femoral shaft fractures amenable to fixation with an antegrade IM nail 2. Patients with pelviacetabular fractures other fractures or bone grafting procedures necessitating operative intervention 3. Patients giving informed, written consent to be a part of the study
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Femoral shaft fractures not amenable to antegrade intramedullary nailing 2. Open fractures 3. Pathological fracture 4. Patients having any of these comorbid conditions: Intracranial events (stroke, bleeding, infection), Fluid or electrolyte disturbances (including dehydration, hyponatremia, Hypernatremia), Acute cardiac events: myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure exacerbation, arrhythmia, Acute pulmonary events: asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation, pulmonary embolism, hypoxemia, hypercarbia, on anti coagulants or antiplatelet drugs. - history of leukaemia, cancer with bone metastases, renal failure, patients on dialysis or receiving immunosuppressive medication, and those with suspected local or systemic infection. â?? 5.
