Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Any neonate undergoing venepuncture in the neonatology department stratified as less than 28 weeks and 28-34 weeks of gestational age

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Previous evidence of skin damage as assessed by skin condition score. 2 Prexisting skin disorder vesicobullous lesion, exfoliating lesion or erythematous lesions.

Evaluate the alteration in composite outcome of skin pH and skin hydrationTimepoint: Before application to immediately after and then 6-12 hours later.

1 To evaluate the efficacy of the two antiseptics in reducing the skin microbial load. 2 To evaluate the change in clinical skin condition. 3 To compare the serum chlorhexidine levels.Timepoint: Before application to immediately after and then 6-12 hours later.
