Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: liver cirrhosis patients were taken as Group A and apparently healthy age- and sex-matched patients as Group B.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The patients were cholesterol-lowering medicines within the previous 30 days. Patients with a history of other medical illnesses which may influence the serum lipid level such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, chronic smoker, nephrotic syndrome, and/or thyroid dysfunctions were excluded from the study from both Group A and Group B. All patients who have refused to give consent for the study
