Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • 18 years to 80 years • Patients with more than 48 hours of ICU admission

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Patients referred from other hospitals • Patients shifted from ward to ICU • Patients with indwelling catheters like central venous line, urinary catheter, hemodialysis catheter, arterial line on admission • Patients intubated or tracheostomised before admission to ICU

1. To observe the difference in capillary and arterial blood glucose levels in patients admitted to Intensive care unit. 2. To observe the difference in type of infections in Diabetic patients and non-diabetic patients. 3. To observe variability in incidence of type of infections in patients with well controlled and uncontrolled blood glucose levels in ICU Timepoint: at baseline and 1 week
