Health Condition 1: I10- Essential (primary) hypertension

Interventions

Intervention1: Yog Nidra: Yog Nidra is a type of relaxation therapy consisting of guided interoception and meditation in supine position. A pre-recorded audio clip of Yog Nidra in the voice of gurudev
Pre-Intervention - Patientâ??s BP and HRV will be recorded. Patient will be made to lie down in a supine position
Duration of Intervention - 15 minutes
Post-Intervention - Patientâ??s BP and HRV will be recorded
Frequency of the Intervention - The Intervention will be given only once, i.e. a Single Session Control Intervention1: NIL: NIL

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosed with Hypertension (classified as per 2017 AHA/ACC guidelines)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Patients with other co-morbidities (Diabetes Mellitus/ Chronic Kidney Disease/CVA/CAD/COPD) based on history and clinical examination - Patients with a secondary cause of hypertension based on history and clinical examination - Pregnant or lactating females - Patients with diagnosed sleep disorder, major psychiatric disorder or cognitive disorder - Patients not giving informed written consent

To measure and compare systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after a single session of yog nidra in patients of essential hypertensionTimepoint: Before and after a single session of yog nidra, i.e. at baseline and after 15 minutes
