Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American society of Anaesthesiology physical status 1-3 patients Patients receiving levetiracetam therapy for >1 month and are seizure free. Posted for elective neurosurgical patients.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Refusal to consent for proposed study. 2.Patients on multiple anticonvulsant medication along with Levetiraetam. 3.GCS 4.Anticiated difficult airway. 5.Obese patients,BMI >30 6.Pregnancy. 7.Known case of neuromuscular disorder.

To compare the dose-response characteristics of Cisatracurium induced neuromuscular blockade in Levetiracetam treated neurosurgical patients and the control group (not on any anticonvulsant medication) 1) To determine the duration of action (in minutes) 2) To determine the interval between supplementary doses of Cisatracurium required (in minutes) 3) To estimate the total average dosage (mg) 4) To determine the Recovery time (minutes) Timepoint: 1)From administration of intubating dose to TOF more than or equal to 2 in minutes. 2)From TOF more than 2 to next TOF more than 2 in minutes. 3)From the beginning of anaesthesia to reversal from anaesthesia in minutes. 4)From last supplementary dose of cisatracurium to TOF more than 90% in minutes.

1) To compare the Intraoperative hemodynamic variables between the two groups. 2) To compare the analgesic (fentanyl) requirement between the two groupsTimepoint: 1)Intraoperative hemodynamic changes like heart rate,SBP,DBP,MAP at baseline,post induction,post intubation,post intubation every 5 minutes for the first half an hour,every 15 minutes till the end of procedure,at extubation and 5 minutes post extubation. 2)Total analgesic(fentanyl)requirement from the beginning of anaesthesia till end of anaesthesia.
