Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Schizophrenia Schizophrenia (according to DSM 5) with persisting symptoms Score of >=4 on one or more of the items of BPRS 4 (conceptual disorganization) 11 (suspiciousness) 12 (hallucinatory behaviour) 15 (unusual thought content) OR A score of >=12 on all the above items combined Right-handed in accordance with the Edinburgh Handedness Inventory Speak either Kannada or English Written informed consent Depression Major Depressive Disorder (according to DSM 5) with persisting symptoms HAMD-17 score >=18 Right-handed in accordance to the Edinburgh Handedness Inventory Speak either Kannada or English Written informed consent Healthy Controls Matched for age, gender and education Right-handed in accordance to the Edinburgh Handedness Inventory Speak either Kannada or English Written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Schizophrenia Any history of other major psychiatric disorders Neurological disorders associated with movement impairments SUD in the last six months (except nicotine) Pregnancy Any contraindication to HD-tDCS or TMS Depression Any history of other major psychiatric disorders Neurological disorders associated with movement impairments Bipolar depression Psychotic disorder or symptoms SUD in the last six months (except nicotine) Pregnancy Any contraindication to HD-tDCS or TMS Healthy Controls Any history of major psychiatric disorders SUD in the last six months (except nicotine) Neurological disorders associated with movement impairments Major psychiatric illnesses in first-degree relatives Pregnancy Any contraindication to HD-tDCS or TMS
