Intervention1: Surgical fixation group: After fixing the distal radius, DRUJ instability will be assessed intraoperatively and noted. Surgical fixation of ulnar styloid in form of tension band wiring

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with intra-articular distal radius fracture with associated ulnar base of styloid fracture

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with extra articular radius fractures, radius fractures without an associated ulnar styloid fracture,associated ulnar tip or waist fractures, polytrauma, open fractures, fractures with ipsilateral fractures, pathological fractures, non-ambulatory patients, and patients who do not consent for the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Tine for union using Xrays and Functional assessment using (QuickDASH) score, and modified Mayo Score questionnaire.Timepoint: The patients will be followed at 6 weeks, 3months, 6months, and 1 year.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Functional assessment will be done which includes range of motion of the wrist and forearm, ulnar side wrist pain. Post-operative radiographs will be analyzed for the ulnar styloid displacement, DRUJ incongruity.Timepoint: The patients will be followed at 6 weeks, 3months, 6months, and 1 year.Radiological, functional assessment and clinical assessment of DRUJ will be done at every follow-up.
