Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age more than 18 year 2. Diagnosed to have malignant biliary obstruction 3. With bilirubin more than 10 mg% 4. Either planned for surgery or neoadjuvant chemotherapy 5. Undergoing endoscopic biliary stenting

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Age less than 18 years 2. Biliary obstruction other than malignancy related 3. Bilirubin less than 10 mg% 4. ECOG 3-4 5. Those undergoing palliative stenting

MeasureTime frame
To assess the proportion of patients who have a bilirubin of 3 mg% or less after 2 weeks of biliary stenting and are given oral activated charcoal.Timepoint: At the end of 2 weeks of charcoal therapy
