Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients in the age group between 18- 25years (both male and female). 2. Class I malocclusion at the beginning of treatment. 3. Normal arches. 4. All first premolar extraction cases. • Complete course of orthodontic treatment using (0.022 x 0.025) INCH PRE ADJUSTED EDGEWISE APPLIANCE. • All permanent first molars erupted before orthodontic treatment. • All third molars either extracted or missing before debonding. • No tooth agenesis or anomalies. • Maxillary removable (Hawley) retainers worn for one and half year and mandibular fixed second premolar to second premolar retainers worn for at least one and half year and maximum of two years post treatment with no retention at the follow up record. • Post treatment T SCAN and TMJ CBCT at the time of debonding.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Patients who had undergone previous active orthodontic treatment. • Abnormal tongue thrusting habit. • Missing teeth, excluding second or third molars. • Patients with pathology associated with head and neck area. • Patients with pretreatment and post treatment TMJ problems. • Patients with any underlying systemic disorder
