Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients of either sex, aged 20-65 years, scheduled to undergo elective Total Hip Arthroplasty under spinal anaesthesia 2. ASA Grade I, II, III

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Revision or bilateral THA 2. h/o neuropsychiatric disorders or neuromuscular disease 3. h/o long-standing diabetes mellitus, cardiac or neurological disease 4. Patients with contraindications for spinal anaesthesia like injection site infection, increased intracranial tension, spine pathology/ surgery, coagulopathy and thrombocytopenia 5. Allergy to local anaesthetics 6. Kidney or liver failure 7. Chronic treatment with opioids/ sedatives

1.Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score at 6 hrs after total hip arthroplasty 2.Duration of analgesia (time of first request for rescue analgesia)Timepoint: 12 months
