Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: An average age of 29±7 years old (range 20-50 years), having two contra-lateral molars teeth with class I occlusal shallow- to mid-sized caries lesions

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of sensitivity to cold or pain and no tenderness on percussion. Patients who were taking analgesics, or teeth with secondary caries, defective or fractured restoration, and old restorations that needed refilling Teeth with deep carious lesions or severe destruction of the crown or not in occlusion
