Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Inpatients those who admitted at the Centre for Addiction Medicine, NIMHANS, diagnosed with alcohol dependence syndrome using ICD-10 criteria and concurred by two psychiatrists. 2. Aged between 18 to 55 years 3. Persons relapsed more than three times within a year after receiving treatment (Measured by using Timeline Follow Back) 4. Currently receiving inpatient treatment for alcohol dependence. 5. Persons those who can speak Tamil, Kannada, and English 6. Motivated to reduce drinking (using the Stages of Change Readiness and Treatment Eagerness Scale-SOCRATES- cutoff score of Recognition >33, Taking Steps >33) 7. Persons who have received standard treatment for alcohol dependence, including pharmacotherapy, individual/group therapy 8. Individuals who give voluntary consent for the study
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Dependence on other substances except for nicotine 2. Presence of acute alcohol withdrawal as measured by the Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment of Alcohol Scale (CIWA-Ar score >8) 3. Persons diagnosed with intellectual disability, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder using Structured Clinical Interview for DSMâ??5 Disorders (SCID-5) 4. Those who have cognitive impairment as defined by Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score
