Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patient with age >18 years. 2) Patients fulfilling the institutional guidelines for prophylactic platelet transfusion.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Patients on drugs known to cause thrombocytopenia or platelet dysfunction eg. Vancomycin, Amphotericin B, Aspirin. 2) Patientâ??s having immune and non-immune causes of platelet refractoriness like fever, sepsis, bleeding, DIC, splenomegaly.

MeasureTime frame
To determine the efficacy of low dose SDP transfusions in adult oncology patients requiring prophylactic platelet transfusions by checking Corrected count Increment(CCI) 10-60 minutes post transfusion.Timepoint: 3 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the frequency and the types of adverse transfusion reactions associated with platelet transfusion.Timepoint: 3 months
