Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients posted for elective surgeries under general anaesthesia. Patients of ASA grade I and II Adult patients(18-60) years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Hypertensive patients Previous history of coronary artery disease History of arrhythmias, pacemakers Patients allergic to Dexmedetomidine and/or Lidocaine Usage of beta blockers Emergency surgeries Full stomach Patients Pregnant and Paediatric Patients

measurement of Heart rate and Mean Blood PressureTimepoint: Measurement of heart rate and mean blood pressure at following intervals: 1.Arrival to Operation Theatre. 2.Two minutes after completion of infusion of the test drug. 3.Five minutes after completion of infusion of the test drug 4.Before induction of anaesthesia. 5.After induction of anaesthesia. 6.1, 3, 5, 10 minutes after laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation
