Intervention1: 1- clear fluid 2-intervention: metoclopramide : 1- at 5ml/kg 2-dose- 0.1mg/kg diluted to 5ml both given after baseline gastric ultrasound only once Control Intervention1: 1- clear fluid

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: scheduled for elective day care surgery under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1- ASA physical status III and IV 2- Any violations of prescribed fasting guidelines 3- anticipated difficult airway or airway anomaly 4- gastrointestinal disorders 5- patients with medical conditions or on drugs known to accelerate or decelerate gastric emptying 6- noncompliant child
