Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patient age between 1 to 14 years 2. ASA grade I/II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Parent/guardian refusal 2. Contraindication to epidural catheter placement 3. Past his¬tory of spine surgery 4. ASA grade III/IV

MeasureTime frame
To visualize flow in the epidural space using a structured colour flow Doppler assessment in paediatric patients receiving epidural analgesia. Timepoint: 1. Baseline 2. during drug injection 3. 1 minute after injection 4. 2 minutes after injection

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To describe the direction of flow of epidurally administered drug relative to the catheter insertion site. 2. To determine the reliability of epidural catheter in providing perioperative analgesia by assessing the range of drug spread 3. To assess any adverse events Timepoint: 1. Baseline 2. during drug injection 3. 1 minute after injection 4. 2 minutes after injection
