Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA grade I & II 2. Age group 18- 65 years 3. Patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery 4. Duration of surgery less than 3 hours

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients who are on steroids or require catecholamine in the intraoperative period. 2. Patients having adreno-cortical dysfunction 3. Patients who have received chemotherapy or radiotherapy within the past four weeks. 4. Allergy to any drugs used in the study 5. Obese patients (body mass index more than 30 kg/m2)

MeasureTime frame
1 Perfusion index will be noted at various time interval 2 Grade of shivering where measuredTimepoint: T1 the time of arrival in the operating room T2 after induction of anaesthesia T3 at the end of surgery T4 immediately after extubation T5 one hour after extubation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Peripheral temperature will be measured at various time interval 2. Core temperature will be measured at various time interval 3. Temperature gradient will be measured at various time interval 4. Serum cortisol and norepinephrine will be measured 5. Duration of anaesthesia, duration of surgery, volume of intravenous fluid given, amount of blood loss and amount of blood transfused will also be notedTimepoint: The time of arrival in operating room(T1) after induction of anaesthesia(T2) at the end of surgery(T3) immediately after extubation(T4) one hour after extubation(T5)
