Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with diagnosis of sepsis (change in SOFA > 2 with suspected or confirmed infection and lactate levels >2mmol/L, admitted in Adult ICU

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Chronic renal impairment, Liver failure (child pugh B & C), pregnancy, Diabetes on metformin, diabetic keto acidosis, alcoholism, MAP <65 mmhg despite vasopressor therapy, patients who refuse to provide consent
