Interventions

Intervention1: 20ml of 0.2% Ropivacaine: BILATERAL ULTRASOUND GUIDED ERECTOR SPINAE PLANE BLOCK WILL BE GIVEN TO PATIENT AFTER INDUCTION OF GENERAL ANAESTHESIA AND WILL BE MONITORED FOR 24 HRS POSTOPE

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age between 18 to 70 years 2.American Society of Anasthesiologists (ASA) physical status grade I and II. 3.Patients undergoing elective lumbar spine surgeries.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.BMI >30kg/m2 2.Infection at the site of block. 3.Coagulation disorders. 4.Allergy to local anaesthetics.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Postoperative VAS score at 4,8,12 and 24 hours. Timepoint: 24 HOURS

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.Total analgesic requirement in the first 24 postoperative hours. 2.Time to first rescue analgesia requirement postoperatively. 3.The number of patients reported complications such as nausea and vomiting postoperatively.Timepoint: 24 HOURS
