Intervention1: Effects of superfial cervical plexus block on perioperative requirement of opioids in thyroid surgery: In one group preinduction B/L superficial cervical plexus block is given with 0.5%

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients with ASA status 1 and 2 of either sex undergoing elective thyroid surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Patients not giving consent 2 Coagulation disorder 3 Infection at the site of block 4 Past history of any drug reaction

1)To record the intraoperative and post operative requirement of opioids 2)To observe VAS score at rest and on swallowing durinng first 24hrs of post surgery 3)Time for the first analgesic requestTimepoint: 2-3months

1)To record intraoperative consumption of sevoflurane (Vol%) 2)To observe intraoperative hemodynamic parameters 3)To observe any complications and side effectsTimepoint: 2 to 3 months
