Intervention1: Preoxygenation prior to intubation: Preoxygenation will be done in semi recumbant position 30°, for 3 to 5 minutes using either of the three methods selected by randomization.

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients requiring intubation with acute hypoxaemic respiratory failure according to the following criteria : Respiratory rate more than 25 breaths per minute, or signs of respiratory distress, with a partial pressure of oxygen to FiO2 ratio equal or below 300mmHg
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Intubation for cardiac arrest, Contraindications to non invasive ventilation (recent laryngeal, oesophageal or gastric surgery, facial fractures), Pregnancy
