Interventions

Intervention1: oral administration of citicoline: one set of patients with osteoporosis will be given citicoline 1000mg every day of six months and compared with another group receiving calcium 1000mg

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Osteoporosis with T-Score below -2.5 SD 2. Patients on treatment for osteoporosis 3.Those willing to participate 4.Patients more than 60 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Smokers and Alcoholics not willing to stop the habits 2.Patients not tolerating citicoline and calcium 3.Patients on steroids and immunosuppresors 4.Diabetics, Renal and Hepatic failure 5.Immunodeficient patients
