Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with cardiogenic and spinal shock 2.Suspected/Confirmed cervical spine fracture or patients with cervical collar 3.Patients having swelling over neck obscuring the structures 4.Patients who underwent head and neck surgery or burn where anatomy might be distorted 5.Patients already on inotropes 6.Obese patients 7.Patients presenting with features of increased intra-abdominal pressure.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Fluid responders and non responders on the basis of External jugular vein diameter and Inferior Venacava diameterTimepoint: Fluid responders and non responders on the basis of External Jugular vein diameter and Inferior Venacava diameter(before Fluid resuscitation and 30 minutes after fluid resuscitation).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.Fluid responders and non responders 2.Change in baseline parameters(heart rate, blood pressure, urine output)Timepoint: Pre fluid resuscitation and at the end of resuscitation
