Intervention1: aged garlic gel: aged garlic gel to be placed once in periodontal pocket of patients with chronic periodontitis 15 days after 15 days
Control Intervention1: 1.5% chlorhexidine gel: 1.5%

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Participants without any ongoing systemic disease/medical condition 2. Participants with less than 10 sites with residual periodontal pockets both right and left side of the 3. maxillary premolar and molar with pocket depth >= 5 mm 4. Presence of a minimum of 20 natural teeth.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Participants with a history of any systemic disease/conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia etc. 2. Participants with any history of any drug intake/medication for systemic disease 3. Participants reporting any allergy to chlorhexidine. 4. Current and former smokers 5. Participants with any form of oral abusive habit such as ghutka, pan, supari, arecanut,etc 6. Those undergoing any radiation or chemotherapy 7. Pregnant and lactating women. 8. Participants who have undergone any periodontal therapy in the previous six months. 9. Participants who are under any antibiotics in previous three months
