Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Critically ill patients with severe sepsis admitted in Medical Intensive Care Unit among whom enteral nutrition will be initiated within 48 hours of admission as per the current ICU policy. Those patients who is expected to stay for more than 7 days in the Intensive Care Unit. Those patients who is expected to receive more than 7 days of enteral nutrition.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Those patients who could not fed for > 80% total enteral nutrition feed days with 80% or more of target calorie and or protein. Those patients who is having pre-existing neuro muscular diseases which may affect the muscular thickness.
