Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnostic of chronic painful TMD according to the Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (RDC/TMD), categories Ia (myofascial pain without limited mouth opening) or Ib (myofascial pain with limited mouth opening)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.History of facial or head trauma, rheumatic and orthopaedic pathologies, surgical procedures performed in the cranio-cervical region and neurological diseases; 2.diagnostic of other chronic pain disorders, such as primary headaches, cervical pain disorders or fibromyalgia; 3.Intake of medications, such as Muscle Relaxants, Anticonvulsants, Antidepressants and Anxiolytics; 4.H/o TMD treatment in the last three months; 5.Intake of NSAIDs, Steroids or Oral Contraceptives 24 h prior to the assessment
