Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To determine the long term sustained effects of Viscosupplementation (VS) with various types of Intra-Articular Hyaluronic Acids (IAHA) in bilateral Knee Osteoarthritis (OA) in maintaining functional improvement of the knees and evaluating the duration of effect of the first and repeat injections of VS.Timepoint: Entry - First IAHA injection. First Follow up - At the time of Second IAHA injection End point - At the time of Third IAHA injection The duration of the time points is expected to be different for different types of VS and severity of the disease. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To determine the required interval between follow up injections in various types of VS.Timepoint: Entry - at the time of First IAHA injection First outcome - Interval between I and II IAHA Injections Final outcome - Interval between II and III IAHA Injections; To see if any radiographic arrest of disease progression can be documented.Timepoint: Available X rays at entry, time of second injection and at the time of third injection will be compared. | — |
