Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: A) Patients in Group 1 (healthy group) fulfilling the following criteria will be included. Age ranges from 18-50 years At least 20 functional teeth should be present. Patient should be systemically healthy. No sites with CAL (clinical attachment loss) No sites with Probing Depth >3mm No radiographic bone loss. B) Patients in Group 2 (periodontitis group) fulfilling the following criteria will be included. Age ranges from 18-50 years At least 20 functional teeth should be present. Patient should be systemically healthy. More than 30 % teeth affected by periodontal disease Probing Depth � 6mm / interdental CAL � 5mm Bone loss extending to mid-1/3rd of root and beyond.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: i) Patient with history of cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, respiratory tract infection, smoking, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, chronic renal failure, malignancy, hematological abnormalities or any medication. ii) Patients who have been treated for periodontitis in past 6 months.
