Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients above 18 years of age on mechanical ventilator and non-ventilated patients who were prescribed physiotherapy after 48 hours of ICU admission.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with hemodynamic instability (MAP â?¥ 120mmHg or â?¤ 60mmHg, HR â?¥ 140bpm or â?¤ 50bpm, and the presence of arrhythmias with hypotension) 2.Patients with ventilatory instability â?? FiO2â?¥ 0.8 or the need for PEEP â?¥ 10cmH2O 3.Presence of fractures for which immobilization is advised. 4.Conditions with raised Intracranial pressures such as traumatic brain injury and stroke. 5.Patients with poor echocardiographic window. 6.Pregnancy

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the hemodynamic changes - including Cardiac output (by Doppler ultrasound) that occur before, during and after physiotherapy in mechanically ventilated patients and in patients who are not on mechanical ventilator. Timepoint: Duration of a single physiotherapy session lasting about 20 to 25 min.
