Interventions

Intervention1: SMS and Buprenorphine and Naloxone Combination: The intervention consists of SMS which shall be sent twice per week. The mobile messages will be sent twice before attending the Opioid

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age more than or equal to 18 years. 2.Gender ââ?¬â?? any 3.Diagnosis of opioid dependence as per International Classification of Diseases ââ?¬â?? 10 Diagnostic Criteria for Research(F11) and the primary substance of abuse is poppy husk. Not on opioid substitution therapy for at least 4 weeks. 4.Tests positive on urine screening test for opioids. 5.Patient must have a functional mobile phone and know how to operate. 6.Patient must be able to read the Hindi messages. 7.Informed consent for participation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Patient dependent on any other substances except Nicotine and Caffeine - Patients having any other psychiatric disorder, organic brain disorder or Mental Retardation. - Patients of any unstable medical illness requiring priority management

MeasureTime frame
The total days under treatment shall be calculated using details of OPD visit, as recorded in the registration system of the hospital. Severity of opiate dependence will be assessed by SODQ (Severity of Opioid Dependence Questionnaire) and compliance to medication will be assessed by Opioid Compliance Checklist (OCC) and urine screening test.Timepoint: Baseline, 3 months, 6 months

Side effects of buprenorphine. Timepoint: Buprenorphine side effect checklist assessment at three months and six months.
