Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - ASA physical status i-iii - BMI - Candidates posted for abdominal surgeries and surgical duration expected to exceed beyond 2 hours

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Mechanical ventilation of > 1 hour within the last 2 weeks before surgery - Body mass index � 35 kg/m2 - Acute respiratory failure (pneumonia, acute lung injury or acute respiratory distress syndrome) - Laparoscopic surgery - Sepsis or septic shock - Progressive neuromuscular illness - Intra-thoracic surgery - Pregnancy - Orbital tumors - Optic neuritis - Glaucoma - Refusal to participate
