Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Newly diagnosed case of hypothyroidism 2. Patients age should be above 16 years and below 56 years 3. Based on thyroid profile elevated level of serum TSH level or low level of serum T3 & T4. However the cases of which T3 & T4 levels are within normal range and TSH level is high will also included. 4. Patients those have given written consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. All complecated cases of hypothyroidism goiter, myxoedema, severe mental illness, thyroid cancer etc and other associate with other endocrine disorders. 2. Patients having chronic systemic illness. 3. Congenital hypothyroidism. 4. Pregnant women and lactating mother. 5. Patients having undergone thyroid surgery.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected at the end of the study we whould be able to demonstrate the efficacy of Ayurvedic treatment protocol in the management of hypothyroidism.Thyroid profile(T3, T4 and TSH levels) would be evaluated to determine the effectsof above intervention.Timepoint: 45 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Subjective parameters weight gain, excessive sleep, muscle cramps, oedema, dry skin, constipation, lethargy, hair loss and menstrual irregularities would be evaluated to determine the effect of ayurvedic treatment protocol in the management of hypothyroidism.Timepoint: At 15th day, 30th day and 45th day
