Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Age more than 18 years 2) Mechanical ventilation of at least 48 hours 3) Patient should met the following criteria for readiness of weaning: ? Oxygenation status: FiO2 200 ? Ventilation status: Respiratory rate less than or equal to 30/min & paCO2 of ? Stable hemodynamics ? Intact mentation ? Minimal secretion and effective cough

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Known Neuromuscular disorder 2) Known case of diaphragmatic paralysis 3) Tracheostomized patients 4) Increased Intraabdominal Pressure 5) Phrenic Nerve Palsy 6) Obstetric antenatal patients

To assess and compare the effectiveness of predicting weaning success of DTF with CORE index and Integrated weaning index Timepoint: After 48 hours of initiation of mechanical ventilation and with pressure support of 8 and 5 cmH2o during weaning

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To calculate the cut-off value for optimal DTF to succeed weaning at different time points after initiation of mechanical ventilationTimepoint: 48 hours, 5th day, 7 th day, 10 and 14 th day
