Intervention1: Group A : Patients to receive intravenous infusion of 0.5mcg/kg of Inj. Dexmedetomidine in 100 ml of NS just after spinal anaesthesia over 20 minutes. Intervention2: Group B: Patients

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patient consent. 2.Patients of either gender between 20 to 50 years of age scheduled for elective surgeries of short duration. 3.Type of surgery included: Lower abdominal, urological and orthopaedic surgeries. 4.Weighing 40-60kgs. 5.ASA PHYSICAL STATUS 1 and 2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patient refusal. 2.Patient not belonging to age (20-50 years), weight (40-60kgs) or ASA PHYSICAL STATUS 1 and 2. 3.Patient who develop shivering during preloading. 4.Patient requiring blood transfusion during surgery. 5.Patients with an initial core temperature >37.5C or 6.Patients having contraindications to spinal anaesthesia. 7.Patients having contraindications to Dexmedetomidine or Magnesium Sulphate.
