Inclusion criteria: Adult men and women diagnosed with type 2 diabetes Attending the Dr Mohanââ?¬•s Diabetes Specialties Centre (DMDSC, Chennai) Give consent to participate in study

Exclusion criteria: Unwilling to participate in the study

| The ultimate goal of this work is to improve the welfare of vulnerable populations through enhancing health and diets whilst reducing exposure to toxins. The project will generate new data on brown rice nutrition benefits and risks and identify drivers and barriers to brown rice consumption. The results will benefit disease treatment and management chronic diseases including diabetes and promote preventive health lifestyle measures. Since rice is the major staple for more than half of the world population, this studies outcome will have a global impact.
