Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of schizophrenia as per diagnostic criteria for research, ICD 10 with more than 2 years of duration of illness. 2. Age criteria of 18 to 50 years. 3. Patients who are right-handed. 4. Patients with education level of 5th grade. 5. Those above and patients who would give consent for the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. History of chronic or other significant general medical or neurological illness. 2. Any comorbid diagnosis of any other psychiatric disorder or substance dependence except for caffeine and tobacco. 3. Patient who has received ECT in last one month. 4. Those with history of intellectual disability. 5. Patients with cognitive impairment due to comorbid depressive symptoms (Score higher than 6 on Calgary Depression Scale). 6. Patients with cognitive impairment due to side-effects of psychotropic drugs (assessment by Liverpool University Neuroleptic Side-effects Rating Scale). 7. Those not willing to give informed consent.
