Intervention1: kan kaasa mathirai kalikkam (opthalmic application): kan kaasa mathirai kalikkam applied 2 to 3 drops on affected eyes twice a day Morning and Evening for 90 days. Control Intervention1

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of both sexes who met the diagnostic standards of kan kaasam/Immature Cataract, aged 40-70 years were included in the study. Patients who are willing to undergo Kalikkam application. Patients were included on the basis of symptoms like Blurring of vision, Visualization of non existing things, and Difficulty in bright light, dim light or night vision and cataract grading on slit lamp examination according to Lenticular Opacity Classification System. Willing to give specimen of blood for investigation and eye tests whenever required. Willing to attend OPD once in 7 days for 90 days.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: H/o Retinitis pigmentosa. H/o Congenital , mature and hypermature cataract. H/o Glaucoma. H/o Psychiatric disorder. H/o Diabetic retinopathy. H/O previous eye surgery. Taking steroid treatment or any kind of immunosuppressive therapy. Pregnancy & lactation. Uncontrolled Diabetes and Hypertension- blood sugar levels and blood pressure not within limits

The outcome of the study is the reduction in the clinical symptoms and it will be assessed by Nuclear Cataract Lenticular Opacity Classification System II.Timepoint: Ninety day
