Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Thirty patients of either sex above thirty years of age having persistent pain after acute phase of unilateral thoracic herpes zoster not responding to four weeks of analgesics and conservative therapy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with known contraindications for block interventions eg infection at site of block, coagulopathy, history of adverse reaction to fentanyl and ropivacaine, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, patients not consenting for ESPB
