Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1-Patient who provides consent. 2-ASA physical status I and II. 3-Age between 18 to 60 years. 4-Modified Mallampatti Grade [MPG] Grade I, II. 5-Duration of surgery 30mins-120mins. 6-Patients undergoing elective surgeries under general anesthesia with single-lumen oro-tracheal intubations.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1-Patients with Grades of ASA III or more. 2-Patients posted for emergency procedures. 3-Patients with inadequate NBM for clear liquids. 4-Patient with diabetes mellitus type 1 & 2. 5-Patient on steroid therapy.

Primary objective of the present study was to assess effect of carbohydrate drink given 2h before surgery on perioperative blood glucose levels. Assessment of incidence and severity of Post-operative nausea and vomiting. Timepoint: preoperative, at induction,10 mins post induction, 10 min post-extubation

Assessment of incidence and severity of Post-operative nausea and vomiting. Timepoint: at 0,1 and 6 hour
