Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients, 18-65 years old, of either sex with American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status(ASA) I to II scheduled for elective surgery under general anesthesia requiring tracheal intubation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Obvious malformation of the neck or face (candidates for awake tracheal intubation),Pregnant patients, Interincisor distance 35kg/m2) � Patients requiring rapid sequence induction

To correlate the ratio of Sternomental Distance in simple extension and in sniffing position with laryngoscopic view.Timepoint: not applicable for this study

1. To find correlation of the ratio of Sternomental Distance in simple extension and in sniffing position with the Intubation Difficulty Score (IDS). 2. To determine the optimum threshold value of Sternomental Distance in sniffing position for difficult laryngoscopy and intubation. 3. To find correlation of the ratio of height to Sternomental Distance(SMD) in sniffing position with laryngoscopic view.Timepoint: 1.Sternomental distance in Extension (SMDE): 2.Sternomental distance in Sniffing position(SMDS): 3.
