Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Children aged 10 to 16 years of both sexes fulfilling diagnostic criteria 2 Children with Hb level less than 11 gm/dl 3 Microcytic hypochromic anaemia on peripheral blood smears (PBSs) 4 Serum ferritin level 5 After obtaining written informed parents consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Those with Hb level below 8 gm/dl 2 Diagnosed cases of leukaemia,bleeding disorders, tuberculosis, renal and other nutritional deficiencies etc will be excluded 3 Any other type of anaemia except IDA
