Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients of corrosive esophageal strictures aged above 18 years and below 60 years Presenting after at least 6 weeks of ingestion of corrosive substance Having single stricture in the esophagus Baseline Dysphagia score 1 or above Recurrent corrosive strictures Treatment experienced patients with prior episodes of esophageal bougie dilatation for corrosive esophageal stricture

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To determine whether intralesional Triamcinolone injection reduces total number of esophageal dilatation in patients of corrosive esophageal stricture undergoing esophageal bougie dilatationTimepoint: 6 month

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To determine whether intralesional Triamcinolone affects the frequency of complication rate among two groups of the study population Timepoint: 6 month; To determine whether intralesional Triamcinolone affects the periodic dilatation index among two groups of the study population Timepoint: 6 month; To determine whether intralesional Triamcinolone decreases time to relief of dysphagia in patients of corrosive esophageal stricture undergoing esophageal bougie dilatation Timepoint: 6 month; To determine whether intralesional Triamcinolone injection increases the rate of successful endoscopic management of corrosive esophageal stricture defined as dysphagia free period of at least 6 month without endoscopic or surgical intervention Timepoint: 6 month
