Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aged 18 years and above, patients with peritonitis scheduled for emergency exploratory laparotomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Patients • Known metabolic disorders • Patients with diabetic ketoacidosis • Patients with low GCS • Patients with trauma and blood loss • Patients with history of difficult intubation
