Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with known risk factor of deep vein thrombosis such as chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, stroke, malignancy, renal insufficiency, recent myocardial infarction, heart failure, those taking ocp pills, steroids, and patient having multiple associated injuries. 2. Patient having past history of deep vein thrombosis and anticoagulation management. 3. Those having medical and surgical co morbidities that can influence the study eg. Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1.Proportion of deep vein thrombosis detected by Color Doppler ultrasonogrphy To estimate the incidence of deep vein thrombosis in bedridden acute spinal cord injury patients on prophylaxis with elastic compression stockings, using radiological and pathological outcomesTimepoint: 1.In 1st week of admission. 2.In between 2nd and 3rd week of admission 3.In between 5th and 6th week of admission.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To correlate clinico-epidemiological characteristics of patient with acute spinal cord injury with deep vein thrombosis. 2. To find correlation between deep vein thrombosis and lesional characteristics.Timepoint: At the end of study
