Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age >18 years Patients with an indication for ABG analysis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients in shock with systolic blood pressure Patients who refuse to participate Patients who have radial fistulas for dialysis Patients in whom radial artery is not palpable clinically Patients with lymphedema of limb Non cooperative/agitated patients Patients with positive Allenâ??s test Patients with local trauma, bony deformities/scar Patients with local infection over hand Patients with IV cannula placed such that it obscures the anatomical snuff box. Patients who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting using radial artery in past

1.To compare the number of attempts between anatomical snuff box with distal forearm access in patients requiring arterial blood gas in emergency department. 2.To Compare the diameter and depth of radial artery from skin at anatomical snuff box radial artery access site with distal forearm radial artery access site using ultrasonography. 3. To compare the failure rate (after maximum 3 attempts) between anatomical snuff box access with distal forearm access in patients requiring arterial blood gas in emergency department. 4.To compare the complications between anatomical snuff box radial artery access with distal radial artery access in patients undergoing arterial blood gas in the emergency department.
